Sixers Shock the World: 3-1 Comeback Complete
The Philadelphia 76ers have done the unthinkable. Down 3-1 to the powerhouse Boston Celtics, the Sixers rattled off three straight wins, culminating in a gritty 109-100 victory in Game 7 at the TD Garden.
This marks one of the most significant series wins in franchise history and sends the 76ers to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Embiid and Maxey: The Dynamic Duo
Joel Embiid was a force of nature, scoring 34 points and grabbing 12 rebounds despite battling double-teams all night. But it was Tyrese Maxey who provided the spark Philadelphia needed, finishing with 30 points and 11 rebounds. Maxey’s speed in transition and timely 3-pointers kept the Celtics' defense on their heels.
"We never lost faith," Embiid said amidst the celebration. "Even when we were down 3-1, we knew we could win this series if we just focused on one game at a time. To do it here in Boston... it's special."
Celtics Go Cold Late
The Celtics, led by Jaylen Brown's 33 points, held a lead for much of the first half. However, the offense sputtered in the fourth quarter, as Jayson Tatum struggled to find his shot against the Sixers' zone defense. Boston's inability to secure defensive rebounds allowed Philadelphia second-chance opportunities that ultimately decided the game.
