Pistons Shock the World with 3-1 Series Comeback
For the first time in 18 years, the Detroit Pistons are moving on to the second round of the NBA Playoffs. In a winner-take-all Game 7 that was as physical as it was historic, the top-seeded Pistons dismantled the Orlando Magic 116-94 to complete a rare 3-1 series comeback.
The atmosphere at Little Caesars Arena was a mix of desperation and eventual euphoria as Detroit proved their regular-season dominance wasn't a fluke.
Cade Cunningham: The New Face of Detroit
Cade Cunningham put on a masterclass in poise and playmaking, finishing with 32 points and 12 assists. Cunningham controlled the tempo from the opening tip, surgically picking apart Orlando's defense and finding open shooters whenever the double-team arrived.
"We knew we had it in us," Cunningham said during the post-game celebration. "Even when we were down 3-1, the locker room never fractured. We just focused on one possession at a time."
Harris and Duren Dominate the Paint
While Cade orchestrated the perimeter, Tobias Harris was the clinical finisher Detroit needed, adding 30 points on hyper-efficient shooting. In the paint, Jalen Duren was a monster, hauling in 15 rebounds and providing the rim protection that prevented Orlando from mounting any serious second-half run.
The Magic were led by an incredible effort from Paolo Banchero, who scored 38 points, but he lacked the supporting cast as Orlando's shooters went cold in the critical third quarter.
