Cavs Survive Raptors' Surge, Advance to Round 2
The Cleveland Cavaliers are headed to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. In a defensive slugfest at Rocket Arena, the Cavaliers leaned on their "Fro-man" to secure a 114-102 victory over the Toronto Raptors in Game 7.
The series, which saw three overtime periods and two game-winning shots, finally came to an end as Cleveland's interior dominance proved to be the difference maker.
Jarrett Allen: The Anchor of Cleveland
Jarrett Allen delivered one of the most dominant post-game performances in Cavaliers' playoff history. Tying his playoff career high with 22 points, Allen was even more impressive on the glass, snatching 19 rebounds and recording 3 blocks.
"Jarrett was the MVP of this series," said Cavs head coach. "His energy in the third quarter when they were making their run was what kept us afloat. He's the heart and soul of our defense."
Barnes Fights to the End
The Toronto Raptors didn't go down without a fight. Scottie Barnes capped off an incredible series with 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists, nearly willing the Raptors to an upset. However, Toronto's 28.6% shooting from beyond the arc was their undoing, as they couldn't capitalize on Cleveland's late turnovers.
