From the Bench to the History Books: Ayo's 43-Point Miracle
The Minnesota Timberwolves shouldn't be in the second round. After losing Anthony Edwards (knee) and Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) in the same week, the Wolves were written off as "done" against the Nuggets.
Enter Ayo Dosunmu.
In Game 4, with the series on the line, Dosunmu delivered a performance that will be talked about in Minneapolis for decades: 43 points off the bench on 75% shooting.
Stepping into the Void
Dosunmu didn't just score; he assumed the playmaking duties that Edwards left behind. His aggression in the pick-and-roll and his fearless attacking of the rim forced Denver's defense into constant rotations they weren't prepared for.
"I just knew someone had to step up," Dosunmu said. "Ant is our leader, but when he went down, we all looked at each other and said, 'Why not us?'"
The X-Factor for Round 2
As the Wolves prepare to face the Spurs in the Western Conference Semifinals, Dosunmu is no longer a secret weapon—he's the primary focus of the opposing scouting report. If he can maintain even half of this production, the short-handed Wolves might just have another upset in them.
